The Fall Entrance Ceremony was held in Satta Hall at the Ichigaya Campus. This fall entrance ceremony was held for new students in the English Degree Programs, in which all classes are conducted in English.

President Diana Khor welcomed the new students in her address, delivering in English, and highlighting the opportunities for meeting peers, building connections, and engaging in deep learning that university life offers. Following the President’s speech, WU Zijian, an IIST student, delivered the welcome address on behalf of the current students, and a representative of the new students gave an entrance speech. The ceremony concluded with all attendees singing the university song together.

After the Entrance Ceremony, IIST faculty and staff hosted an Ichigaya Campus tour and a short meet-and-greet before the welcome party.

Although the new students appeared nervous during the solemn, traditional Japanese-style ceremony, they were seen relaxing and interacting with fellow new students and faculty members at the campus tour and the welcome party held afterward.

On September 14 and 15, IIST faculty and staff held a series of orientation sessions covering IIST courses, the registration system, visa procedures, and other important matters. Additionally, a separate welcome party for IIST students was hosted at the Koganei Campus.

Congratulations to all the new students!
